Frieda Anderson | Des Moines 2017 Instructor

frieda-andersonBERNINA Ambassador Frieda Anderson has been making quilts for over 40 years. Her original quilts are inspired by colors from nature and the everyday scenery that surrounds her Midwest landscape.

After discovering the art of hand dyeing fabric 20 years ago, Frieda now works almost exclusively with her own hand-dyed cottons and silks in fused and pieced quilt creations. She loves the dye process and particularly enjoys seeing the colors emerge from the wet fabric. Frieda has been designing and making original quilts since she made her first quilt in high school, and she enjoys the challenge of every step of quiltmaking from beginning to end. Daily walks in the woods with her dog are her inspiration for the hand-dyed fabric and original patterns found on her website at
