Kris has been sewing and quilting for over 20 years and has run a successful longarm quilting business for the last ten. She teaches at national shows and guilds across the country, and has won numerous national awards for her machine quilting skills over the years. Most recently, Kris was awarded the APQS Best Movable Machine Workmanship Award at AQS QuiltWeek – Spring Paducah 2018. That quilt, STAR OF INDIA, now resides at The National Quilt Museum in Paducah, along with her other Museum piece, TIGER, TIGER. Kris also won the PFAFF Master Award for Machine Artistry at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in 2015 and Best of Show at the Northwest Quilt Expo in 2014. She recently published her first book, Easy Machine English Paper Piecing.
Kris’s classes focus on teaching quilters how to expand their knowledge bases and break out of their comfort zones. She believes quilting should be fun and not stressful.
Kris enjoys teaching and sharing her love and passion for all things quilt related. Currently she lives in Kansas City, MO with her husband of 26 years, Chris, and two children, William (19) and Tony (16).
