Location: Heritage Ballroom C
Teacher: Kathy Doughty
Level: All levels

Despite growing up in Amish country, Kathy did not find patchwork until after migrating to Australia, becoming a mother, and realizing she needed something to do with her hands! In 2003, she found herself the owner of a patchwork and quilting shop. Material Obsession was born out of a need to create, and Kathy is proud to say that it is a place where creative people come to get busy. The experience of working with quilters in the shop has given her great gifts, both personally and as a designer who loves to share. Since opening the shop, Kathy has become an experienced designer of quilts, written five books, become a fabric designer for FreeSpirit, and she has loved every minute of it. Come hear all about Kathy’s journey! Supplies are not required for a lecture, although you may want to bring a pen and paper to take notes.
