Attend this free lecture to learn about the Quilts of Valor Foundation® (QOVF) and how you can award members of your family or community with a Quilt of Valor to thank them for their service. Discover how to make a Quilt of Valor, begin a QOV group in your area, or become a contributing member of QOVF to help fulfill the mission of “covering Military and Veterans touched by war.” QOVF board president Sue Reich and other foundation members will share popular quilting techniques such as quilt-as-you-go and “Y” seams, new patterns, and the appropriate standards for creating a Quilt of Valor as well as show many examples of actual quilts. Hear about “QOV: A 50 State Salute,” currently on exhibit, which includes quilts representing 24 states. These quilts will be awarded from the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky in February of 2020.
