After years of longarm quilting, Sue has developed a few skills that she would like to share with beginners. Everyone will get their own longarm to work with for the whole day, so get ready for a fun-filled day of hands-on learning! This class begins by covering the basics: Sue will teach you about mounting and floating, squaring off a quilt so that it is square every time, and choosing the perfect thread, needles, and batting. Then, you will learn how to master free-motion quilting so that no matter what the project is, you’ll be saying, “No problem; I can quilt that!” You’ll learn about tension, texture, and balance while getting a full day’s experience on a longarm machine – no sharing required!

We’ll start off with a basic travel path and a simple, everyday Orange Peel quilt design, then transform the path and design to create quick, easy, unique designs that will look great on every style of quilt top. This is the perfect class for all levels of quilters. Come see how stunning and easy your next quilt can be, with nothing more than a grid stencil, a pounce pad, and an endless number of quick and easy quilting designs. Stencils and pounce pad will be supplied for students’ use during class.
