Diamonds in the Sky creates a brilliant four-piece diamond that really radiates, plus a beautiful alternating block that gives this quilt dimension and allows it to shine! Diamonds in the Sky uses (14-20) fat quarters (18″ x 22″). The number depends on how much scrappiness you desire. Alternatively, you could use 6″ strips or scraps, and this quilt would be dynamite. If you want high contrast, use assorted bright fabrics for your Diamonds and a dark or light background. Learn how to use Deb Tucker’s Corner Beam™ as you make this fun quilt. The class will include step-by-step instructions for use of the Corner Beam, as well as tips on matching points and piecing on-point quilts. You’ll also learn strip piecing techniques and general machine piecing hints and tips. This quilt shimmers!

Deb’s Galaxy project is a beautiful alternating block design with three different size options. Students will make two types of pieced blocks and put them together like a checkerboard. Careful color placement and different angles created with the V-Block tool result in what seems to be interlocking circles, yet all seams are straight. What a fun optical illusion! Students can expect to complete samples of both the required blocks during class time.

This piece includes specialty threads, beads, and colorful, luscious felted wool and it will be a stunning topper for any surface. Students will learn to make freezer paper patterns, create placement guides, and work with templates. A variety of basting techniques will be presented for increased accuracy. In addition, students will be encouraged to embellish the rug using beads, specialty threads, and unique stitches in their own style to truly make the piece unique. Students will learn appliqué methods including the tack stitch, Deborah’s signature needle slanting techniques, and fabric layering and trapunto stuffing methods for adding dimension to the work.
