This course is open to professional appraisers as well as anyone interested in becoming a quilt appraiser certified by the American Quilter’s Society. Students will receive an introduction to the procedures and practices that are necessary in order to become certified by AQS. This three-day course allows candidates an opportunity to determine their strengths and weaknesses in preparing professional quilt appraisals that meet legal and ethical standards for insurance, sale, and donation purposes. A prerequisite for who aspire to become certified by AQS, the course is an important step toward understanding the serious nature of appraising, as well as an opportunity to test your knowledge and abilities while learning through the experiences of others.

This class (seminar format) is designed to provide a forum for AQS Certified Appraisers to gather, discuss, and stay current with up-to-date information regarding those issues affecting all appraisal situations, standards, and performance. Relevant topics will be introduced for discussion allowing appraisers to share personal experiences with regards to current values, trends, styles, and techniques. Enrollment in the class is STRICTLY limited to AQS Certified Appraisers.
