AQS QuiltWeek | Show Policies
By attending AQS QuiltWeek, you acknowledge that you have been informed that you may be recorded as part of theatrical, broadcast television, home video, or Internet release and/or any and all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the known universe and the advertising and publicity thereof. Further, you grant your permission for your likeness and voice to be included therein without compensation, credit, or other consideration.
AQS Photography Policy
Photographs taken at AQS QuiltWeek are for your own personal use, and for sharing with your friends and family who could not attend. Please include the name(s) of the maker(s) with any quilt image you post online; take a photo of the quilt tag so you will have this information. Photos of quilts may not be posted to any website where the images can be used to produce T-shirts, mugs, and other products. No videos or commercial photography are permitted at the show; media or writers may pick up a press pass at the AQS Information Center.
For the safety of all attendees, pull-behind wheeled carts, rolling tote bags, and luggage are not allowed in the vendor/exhibit areas; use the Package Check located inside the exhibit hall. Medically indicated rolling-style walkers, wheelchairs with people in them, and strollers with babies aboard are allowed.
Please note that a one-time only $5.00 processing fee is charged during the initial registration and will not be refunded. If you make any changes to your registration, there are no additional fees.
AQS offers a tiered cancellation policy. See below:
*This refund process is handled automatically by our registration software.
*Memberships purchased through registration cannot be canceled.
*Class exchanges can only be made by calling the AQS office at 270-898-7903. Ask for the show department.
*A transfer fee of $25 will apply when transferring an entire registration from one person to another. If you are interested in a transfer, or if you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the AQS office.
MULTI-DAY, FULL-DAY, OR TWO HALF-DAY WORKSHOPS
Purchase of a multi-day, full-day, or two half-day workshops on the same day, will include show admission for the day(s) of the workshop(s) only. Lectures and special events not included.
In the registration system DO NOT select admission for those days.
Please stop by the AQS Information Center to receive admission for that day.
A multi-day workshop is held over the course of multiple six hour days.
A full-day workshop is a six hour workshop within a single day.
For the most creative and productive QuiltWeek experience, AQS provides the following guidelines for our classrooms.
- Present your online registration name badge or receipt from the AQS Information Center to the instructor upon request for entry. Name badges can be printed at home from the Name Badge/Agenda/Confirmation Email sent after registering online.
- Please turn all cellular or other devices to silent or vibrate as necessary to avoid becoming a distraction.
- Please do not wear excessive perfume.
- Dress in layers due to differentiating temperatures within classrooms.
- Be on time. If you are late, please try to catch up quietly and do not expect the instructor to start over.
- Be prepared for class and bring all necessary items required on the supply list. Supply lists, if applicable, are located within the description of each class. Please do not expect to borrow items. Not only is it a distraction in class, there may not be extra items available.
- Do not expect a teacher to take time from the class to teach you something different. Review definition of skill levels before choosing a class.
- Do not take photographs or tape the class without consent.
- Handouts and other materials provided by the instructor are copyrighted. Please check with the instructor before sharing the workshop with others in any format.
- Kit, Handout, and Optional Kit fees are payable in class to the instructor. Please be prepared with cash or check, as not all instructors are equipped to process credit cards.
DEFINITION OF SKILL LEVELS
- All Levels – Any student with basic sewing skills, rotary cutting skills, and quilting skills.
- Beginner Level – The student acknowledges basic sewing skills, with some rotary cutting skills, and a working knowledge of a sewing machine. He/she is able to sew simple pieced and appliquéd designs.
- Intermediate Level – The student not only acknowledges the basics of sewing and rotary cutting, but has experience using them in completed projects. He/she has been sewing for several years and has taken several classes.
- Advanced Level – A skilled quilter/artist that wants a challenge from an experienced instructor. He/she is designing his/her own blocks and patterns. Combines designs from various sources.
SEWING MACHINE AND EQUIPMENT POLICY
Sewing machine companies have kindly provided machines for all classes requiring machine work. This includes home machines and longarms. Educators will provide a brief tutorial at the beginning of each class and will be available in these classrooms. Personal machines are not allowed in classes.
There is one machine per student in the home machine classrooms. Two students share a machine in the longarm classrooms.
Other items such as rotary cutters, mats, rulers, and irons may be provided by sponsors. Please refer to individual class supply lists for which materials students are to bring and which will be provided.
Please use all safety measures when working with any tool, and please be respectful with all provided or borrowed tools and materials.
