The Value of VALUE – #32807

Day: Thursday, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Eisenhower Room
Teacher: Grace Errea
Level: All levels
Member: $16 Retail: $20

Grace’s trademark is VALUE. In this lecture she will focus on value and its importance in textile work, along with various color harmonies, color theory, and psychology of color. The expressive aspects of color and value in nature and in art/quilts will be discussed. At completion of the lecture, attendees will see value and color in a new way and will start releasing the artist within. Learn how to use value to create a focal point, to set the mood in a piece, to create 3-dimensionality or to give the perception of perspective in a landscape, and how to showoff those traditional blocks so the design shines. This is a crowd-pleasing lecture, entertaining and fun, full of funny real anecdotes and actual quilts for show and tell. Supplies are not required for a lecture, although you may want to bring a pen and paper to take notes. An optional kit is available.
