KRIS VIERRA | Fall Paducah 2017 Instructor

kris-vierraQuilting instructor, professional longarm quilter, and fitness enthusiast Kris Vierra has been a quilter and seamstress for more than 20 years and a longarm quilter for nine years. She teaches at national shows and guilds across the country and has won numerous national awards for her machine quilting skills over the years. Most recently, Kris was awarded the Best Longarm Machine Workmanship award at AQS QuiltWeek events in Phoenix, Arizona, and Des Moines, Iowa, in 2016 for A Quilter’s Garden. She won the Pfaff Master Award for Machine Artistry at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas, 2015, and Best of Show at the Northwest Quilting Expo in 2014.

In addition to quilting and teaching, Kris does commission fiber art. Her most recent work can be seen as album art for the Australian band The Avalanches’ new album, WildFlower. A full-time longarm quilting business keeps her busy, and she is designing her own line of longarm rulers and wholecloth quilt stencils. Her classes focus on teaching quilters how to expand their knowledge base while breaking out of their comfort zones. Kris believes that quilting should be fun and not stressful. Take a look at
