Bob Ross is public television’s most beloved personality. This docu-story reveals the personal life of Bob Ross through the loving accounts of close friends and family, childhood photographs, and rare archive footage – what you know: his unwaivering dedication to wildlife for example, and what you don’t know: Bob Ross’ straight hair, his fascination with fast cars, and so much more. You’ll see rare film clips of Bob Ross with mentor William Alexander, and the very first rough-cut “Joy of Painting” episode. And you’ll learn how one little TV commerical to advertise local painting classes slowly turned this gentle-mannered fellow from simple beginnings into a viral phenomenon that continues to allow millions around the world to realize their dream of becoming an artist. Bob Ross: The Happy Painter is a 60-minute film presented in three parts: The Man, The Television Artist, and His Legacy.

This eye-catching block is easier to make than it looks. Come to class and learn the techniques that make foundation paper piecing fun! You will work on one 20″ x 20″ block in class. Choose fabrics and colors for your own block to set the mood you want, either traditional or modern. You can repeat blocks to make a bigger quilt, or you can use this block alone or as a center medallion.

Hand Quilting Basics and More- #13102w

Join Becky for the day and learn how to quilt by hand in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Hand quilting stitches add beautiful texture and softness to your quilts. You will love the relaxed rhythm of hand quilting and experience real joy as you watch your stitches enhance your quilt. First, you will explore a variety of quilting designs and the different ways to mark them on your quilt top. Then, learn how to baste the layers and prepare the edges of your quilt so they stay tidy as you work. Most importantly, you will practice a classic hand quilting stitch: the rocking stitch. You will have the choice of making small, traditional stitches, or showy, fast, big stitches as you find your unique style.
