Have you ever said, “My machine doesn’t like that thread?” or “I can only quilt with XYZ thread?” Then this is the class for you to learn about different weights of thread for quilting. Education is key, and Sarah will explain the uses and finished effects of 12wt, 28wt, 40wt, 50wt, and 80wt threads, as well as cotton, metallic, water-soluble, and monofilament fibers, in this hands-on class. Sarah will cover thread basics, including information on weight and ply, spool positioning, needle recommendations, and tension settings. She will offer helpful tips and tricks, then share projects and photos aimed to inspire and expand your use of threads. You will be sharing a BERNINA Q20 sit-down longarm machine in this hands-on class. The skills taught in this class are transferable to your home domestic sewing machine. Two people per machine.
